What We Are Looking For
We are looking to expand the variety of our existing merchandise mix as provided by our current artists without adding undue overlap. We want to appeal to a wider variety of tastes and budgets while maintaining our high standards of quality and presentation. We are particularly looking for unusual offerings not often found at most art shows.
We are only looking for artists who have passion, commitment to improvement, who can work well with others to build a sphere of prosperity around the show and have the ability to follow instructions. We prefer local or regional artists when possible, however, out of state artists with unusually attractive work have been accepted when work like theirs is not locally available.
What We Are NOT Looking For
- Food Vendors
- Importers or Commercial Product Vendors
- Jewelry - applications will not be reviewed this year
The site handles the food vendors, we are looking only for artists and crafts people, and we just have enough jewelers at this time.
Booth Requirements
Only a very well laid out, attractive and finished booth display can successfully compete in the Armadillo Bazaar sales environment. A wide variety of merchandise items and a wide range of prices are necessary for good sales. Attempting to mount a proper booth on the cheap may result in an embarrassingly poor display and greatly diminished sales potential.
You must provide proper booth walls and lighting. Booths must be pre-fabbed and ready for final assembly, as no painting is allowed on site. All booths must fit entirely within the reserved space. We do not provide pipe & drape booth separators or overhead illumination.
Business Requirements
- Sales tax permit
- Set up for credit cards
- Staffing during all show hours (10:45 am to 11:15 pm daily)
- You must have sufficient merchandise to remain attractively stocked the entire show. First class presentation and display are a must.
This is a first class show for professional artists. Booth prices and presentation requirements reflect this.New participants will have to compete for sales with senior artists who have been working for years, often decades, to consistently improve all aspects of their product, merchandising, presentation, display and promotion. This is a serious challenge for seasoned professionals and not recommended for beginners. You might want to look at booth photos in the 2008 photo album.
